Hi honey,
As I write this you are actually 15 weeks and a couple of days old. However, at a little over 12 weeks old, we went to an appointment to make sure you have all the chromosomes you are supposed to, your nasal bone and that your spine was the size it should be (you passed every test that day!). The best part about that appointment was I got to see what you were doing in my belly. Here are some pictures from that appointment. You can’t tell from these pictures but you were moving around like crazy. You rolled over on your side and then rubbed your face and then rolled all the way around to the other side. I sent your picture to so many people after that appointment. Your grandma Melissa (we think she will be called MeMe) is convinced that you are a girl. She also says that this is the CUTEST ultra sound picture she has ever seen. Just like me, she thinks you look absolutely perfect.
Your daddy has been working midnights all week this week and it is terrible. He has to leave the house at 8pm and doesn’t get back home until 6am. When he gets home in the morning he doesn’t go straight to sleep (like most people would) he has to do his whole breakfast routine, even though he has been up all night. So he gets his sausage in the oven, his coffee brewing, then goes upstairs and takes a shower and then comes downstairs and makes his 3 eggs over easy with an english muffin. The toppings vary from day to day, this morning I believe it was spinach and cheese. And then after he is done with his breakfast he watches some more Fox news and does stuff on his computer. This morning he worked on helping me finalize our list of properties we will be going to look at on Thursday and then I believe he was on to look at Pontiac GTO’s and all kinds of other “boy stuff.” Then, FINALLY, he goes and gets in bed, and he will be sleeping until about 2 or 3. When he wakes up, he likes to go to the gym right away. I usually go with him, although the past couple of days he has woken up pretty grumpy and he isn’t is usual silly fun self.
Yesterday when he woke up and came downstairs, I was on my hands and knees vacuuming around the base boards. He laughed at the sight of his pregnant wife on her hands and knees cleaning. I had to do something to take my mind off of Charlie. I had to take Charlie yesterday morning at 7:30 am to the vet for an operation. I left the vet crying and so worried and sad. I woke your daddy up twice yesterday from his nap, crying, once, right when I got home from the vet and then again when the vet notified me surgery had started. He was so sweet and kind to me. He held me and comforted me and reassured me to have faith and that Charlie was going to be okay. One of the times I laid there in bed and he held me and told me a story about the “man who fell in the hole”…. it was his way of saying that we are a team and he is here for me. I was going to write you the story. But knowing Daddy, I’m sure one day you will hear it from him.
Well, he was right, Charlie was okay. We went and picked him up around 4 yesterday. The poor little guy was in so much pain and very lethargic. He is still healing and I have to keep a very close eye on him because he can’t go up and down stairs or jump on and off the couch. The poor little puppy. I feel better knowing that he is home safe with us now though.
Well, I have some work to do before your daddy wakes up. I’m hoping he wakes up not so grumpy today. There is also a small chance he won’t have to go in tonight and if that is the case, I think he will definitely be happier. If he doesn’t go in tonight, I am going to have him take a picture of my belly with an apple, because that is how big you are now!!!!
I love you. Love, Mommy
